Every morning, if I don't oversleep

...the sun, low on the horizon, streams in my side window and paints a slowly-moving mural through the trees and onto my wall. It's a pretty great effect which this picture does no justice at all. Love you guys. Have a safe trip.

Prop Tart!

I don't know if you recall Robyn Scott, she was the best prop person we ever had, from back in my office days. She lives not too far off so we met in Northampton for lunch at the Miss Florence Diner. She has cute kids, one of whom took this picture.

You know, even in the daytime, I hate the stupid Delaware Memorial Bridge.

Driving up here, what is with this thing?  When I drive near/on this I start feeling like a Republican seeing a random black man walking toward them in a parking lot in broad daylight: I want to freak out, unlimber my concealed-carry and start blowing holes in things.  Well, maybe I don't feel EXACTLY like a Republican.  But I am pointlessly scared, extremely nervous, hate everyone around me who's not me for no real good reason, and am on the verge of taking stupid action of some kind --so on the other hand, maybe I do feel like a Republican. I think that bridge is evil.  And if it collapses while I am on it you must try and make a big deal about my hitherto-unevinced psychic abilities. Perhaps a posthumous award of some kind.  Or a movie along the lines of  "The Mothman Prophecies."

You can tell I'm back in Pittsfield....

Every other house looks like the Addam's family house. And yes, the locals are creepy and they're kooky, mysterious and spooky. And altogether ooky...

Did a one-day trip to the beach

We stayed at the Days Inn, but it was right across the street from here, which I swear we stayed at when I was -like- 7. Am I imagining this? Love y'all...

Earth, Venus, Jupiter, seen from Mars.

The title of this post alone is ridiculous. Man is amazing.

Being a small town threatened with the ever-looming spectre...

...of invasion from the north by those canadian bastards (or, a la français...les bastards canadien), even visiting guest-artists must take their turn defending the shores.

Drove through Sleepy Hollow on the way to the show in Peeksville, NY

We saw the (tragically shadowed) "Headless Horseman About to Lay a Drive-By Pumpkining on Ichabod's Ass" statue they have there. Also the bridge where the whole fictional event occurred (?)

Finally took that test

...while scoring pretty high, I was somewhat disappointed at all the words I missed.  Now I feel dumb.  :(

Rachel and Katie T.

This was a while back. They both are still pretty cute.

Adam's Gulch

Rachel and I in the middle of nowhere. Four mile hike.

So, on my walk, saw this one beautiful tree...

Is this a birch tree? It was alone and unique on the trail. The picture doesn't do it justice: the white were far whiter, and the darks seemed much darker. A tree of true contrasts. Stunning.  I almost got hit by a passing horse while taking this picture.  Horses have very little sympathy for photography in general, I've noticed.

Look who came to see the show!

Charlie Abel, from old-school Toby's days. He knows several of us from various and sundry shows. Still does ballet and gets the ladies. Love you guys.

Opening went well...

But I am pooped and Dad, thanks for the extra supply of these. I finally cracked into them tonight. Sore. I'm not meant to sing and/or clamber in low-oxygen situations.

On the apparent largeness of Idahoans

Big babies, big butts, big rocking chairs.

Went to see 'Moonrise Kingdom' last night. One of the sweetest, funniest movies I've seen in a while. You will love the two lead kids. So adult in such a kid way.

We did a little singing yesterday

Did one scene in front of a group that were using the theatre to honor themselves for something.  Then went out to a place called Light on the Mountains and did a medley of tunes from the show plus other stuff.  This is Rachel singing. I sang this song.  A couple of keys lower, but it went fine with RL and Rachel providing back-up. Now I have 50-year-old groupies, I'm told.

Reminds me of your office view, Dad

Out my bedroom window. Kinda makes me think I'm in your all's basement. Comforting. I like being down here cause it's cooler. It doesn't really get that hot...nobody's home has air-conditioning here. But still too hot for me. Glad I'm not in DC right now.  108 heat index or something like that? Ugh...

Ok, Mom, any ideas?

While searching our kitchen for a simple pair of tongs (which we never found) we came across this device. Can't figure out what the hell it is.

View out my living room

This is where I sit and try to learn harmony in the morning before I go off to rehearsal in the afternoon and forget said harmonies. Happy Fathers Day, Pop!

Somehow....

...all the Birds successfully conspired to deliver unto me a cheery balloon bouquet...and ON my birthday. And I never gave anyone my address. Now they're back at da joint with all my cards. It made me feel all glowy and nice.
