Pretty things in California
Where the streets are lined with orange trees, the highways are lined with ocean views, and I am made far easier on the eyes by standing under whatever the hell these trees are. Do you know , Mom?

Kevin says "Hello!"
We met him for a quick lunch. I didn't get any pictures of him with his girls. He continues to unrelentingly be as Kevinish as ever. Perhaps even more so. Off to California tomorrow.

Happy Easter!
To celebrate Easter Eve, I went and observed a Capitol Steps' show last night. I knew all of the words!

Jo and Cee took a self-defense class
And --as one would expect-- Cee mostly needed defense from Jo. Same as it ever was. :) Actually I am impressed by Jo's form, and the fact that she clearly resembles hotstuff asskicker Emma Peel of the old Avengers TV show. Even down to the outfit. Sweet!

Very cool pic...thanks
This is great: Hope you don't mind; I flipped it so the signs aren't mirrored and played with the levels a little bit for clarity. It's so weird to see Mamaw as a young woman. She looks weirdly just the same. How old was she - early 30's at this point? Younger?
From Andy's roof
Andy's roof has a fine 180 view of just about everything: the Potomac, the Capitol , the Washington Monument, Mt. Vernon, National Harbor, the new ball park, the Shrine in Alexandria, the airport, the Jefferson Memorial with its attendant blossoms, most everything DC-y. He had a little get together there the other day.
Yet we spent most of our time watching the land-side as --for reasons we will never know-- the police and rescue services found, attempted to resuscitate, shrouded, and drove off with a dead body about a block away. We figure we will never figure out what the hell that's about, since calling the police is fruitless as they treat the citizenry like the enemy and you don't tell the enemy ANYTHING.

A visit to the Steps' office...
Finally, a nice day. So I spent it in here collaborating on a Billy Joel song that is long, complicated, and no one but me will be able to memorize. Heh. Actually right behind that giant bay window that God is shining his light into; that's Elaina's office. That's why she has to work so hard all the time: God is always skulking about like some kind of Peeping Jehovah. My solution would be to move my office to the back where God can't see in as well. But --probably for that very reason-- that is where we keep the accountant.

There are few things more American than Baseball's Opening Day in the Nation's Capital
It was the new, improved Washington Nationals first opportunity to sink below .500 for the season and carpe diem, as they say. They promptly lost.. Though many observers pointed out that the beating was less severe than in years past. At least we can look forward to --if not an improved record-- at least an improved point differential. Yay, I guess.
TW just sent me this picture from our last trip
He claims this should be my "author's" photo, should I ever write anything. Well, I'm writin' this, so I'm using it.
