We're almost bored by Alaska's relentless natural beauty. Almost.

Couple of pictures I missed....

Here I am in front of the blue ice of the Mendenhall Glacier outside Juneau, and this is us chasing a blurry young moose through the mountains outside of Fairbanks on our aurora expedition. We saw the barest minimum of activity that will allow us to legally claim to have seen the Northern Lights, but we did get to chase a moose. Also, a better snowshoeing picture.

FYI: our car would not start the next day in Fairbanks. If that had happened the night before, I doubt we would have survived being 10 miles from nowhere in -50 degrees.  Whew!

Two things I dig about Fairbanks' airport...

A) - They have a null gate, and...

B) - Their awesome -50° de-icing procedure

The fine snow filling the air...

...was only seconds before a cup of near-boiling water. It turns instantly to snow. Doesn't work with cooler water, oddly. Dad probably knows why, but I don't. One of Fairbank's many unique entertainments.
