Reagan Building Atrium, DC

Chris Matthews keynotes the Better Business Bureau. At great and fairly amusing length.

Hittin' the road...

Jon Simler's avant-garde noise band is going out on tour. I've been helping him with errands, since he still can't drive. He's psyched. All over the US and Canada opening for a world-famous noise band, an oxymoronic phrase if ever there was one. He won't make a dime and doesn't care. This is their logo. His band is called "cash slave clique."

Headlights

This is like you and me, Pop, 'cause it gets pretty light-headed, half its brain shuts off after a very short while, and -as you can see by the bowl below- it's lost its marbles.

Yep, those are my childhood marbles, freed from the oppressive yoke of storage at long last!

Seen in an arcade...

Video game or Satan's proctologist? Or both?

Goodwill Store, Arlington

You really CAN get anything at a Goodwill.

Bob & Edith's Diner, Ballston

Friendly, fast, and formidably frugal. My new favorite eatery in this down economy. Breakfast 24/7, baby...

Much of My Life...

...looks exactly like this. If anyone ever writes my biography, this should be the cover shot.

Either Arlington or Brigadoon

...only a multicultural Brigadoon, where every hundred years a Chinese grocery and a pack of scruffy, lounging daylaborers appear out of the mist to glare at you and try to sell you bad pork.

Ballston

Foggy, yucky, kinda pretty. Long drive in this crap.

Gettysburg, PA

Local legend says it was this very Amoco that Pettigrew's rebel troops were knocking over when advance elements of John Buford's Union cavalry brigade stumbled on the scene. It was by the premium pump on island two that Buford was wounded in the earlobe, forcing him to wear an ear-cast for the remainder of the war.

The Majestic, Gettysburg, PA

Our pianist is late, and it turns out I suck.

Gray day...

I get to drive to Gettysburg today. Ugh. Love you guys.

Out the window....

...is a gorgeous, foggy morning. Things are foggy and beautiful everywhere it seems.

Getting to the root of things?

Somewhere

No one get excited. Least of all me. Progress....possible. Slim, if any. For today...

Curious doin's...

Hard to tell what's on the level...:)

Columbia Pike

I love being able to walk to stuff.

Casa de Ptomaine, FL

Jon gets all Mexican on our asses...

Stetson University, FL

"Touch the coach" sounds like something that would normal end in shame, degradation, and incarceration.

DeLand, FL

The basketball apparatus visible off stage left would seem to indicate that bad things are about to happen, accoustically.

Somewhere above the east coast...

This is how most flightslook to me, since I sleep under a blanket the majority of the time.

National Airport, 7:00am

Things are hopping. En route to Orlando.

Night view

You can kinda see my red-lit building in the upper left corner of the window.

Also from that same game...

Yeah, yeah, enough with the sports, I know, but I just love this picture. I'm putting it here to archive it.

Looks like a postcard for baseball, does it not?

Forgot from Florida: Tradition Field again.

...
The Mets spring joint: the video.Very close. We hung out on the fence jawing with ballplayers for a bit.

Tuesday, March 17, 2009

Forgot, from Florida...

Jon and I followed a Maserati down 95 for a ways. If you blow up the pic, you can see the license plate says, "IM2RICH"

Now that is just begging for vandalism.

22nd & M NW, DC

Urologists at the Ritz Carlton tonight. Seems like we should be three blocks up on P St. for this. Ah well...

New rug for added grooviness...

Gotta love that Craig's List!

Still arranging...

May have found a possible spot for the pitcher. With its own spotlight, no less!

Friday, March 13, 2009

Coral Springs Performing Arts Center, Coral Springs, FL

Bad picture, hard to tell, but this is actually a picture of the audience from the stage. I asked them to smile for my mom. I can't tell if they cooperated or not. Love you guys.

Thursday, March 12, 2009

Tradition Stadium, Port Lucie, FL

The Mets spring training grounds. Jon and I paid six whole bucks to sit inches from left field on beautiful grass and watch million-dollar guys play up close. Not too shabby.

Cheeburger, Cheeburger, West Palm Beach, FL

Jon and I catch lunch. If you manage to wrestle their 1-lb. burger down your throat, you get your picture on the wall in the back, there.

Doubletree pool, W. Palm Beach

Work, work, work...

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

Roger Dean Stadium, Jupiter, FL

Jon and I watch the Cards beat the Tigers in spring training. You're really close at these ballparks.

Monday, March 9, 2009

Backstage, Rinker Theatre, Kravitz Center, W. Palm Beach, FL

My saving grace all week: Jon Simler. He says hi. Me too.

Doubletree West Palm Beach

I came for the view...

Bethesda, MD

From last night: Me, TW, and Jamie. Three Men at a Men's room.

Dawn over National Airport. Again.

A week in foul, filthy, fetid Florida...phooey!

Saturday, March 7, 2009

Thanks! Love ya!

Thursday, March 5, 2009

National Harbor, MD

Inside the Gaylord Hotel. At 8:00am.

Wednesday, March 4, 2009

Forgot!

From Shreveport's casino the other day: the Million-Dollar Wall! 10,000 $100 bills garishly mounted behind shatterproof plexvar. Sweet.

Tuesday, March 3, 2009

Twilight of the owls...

Sunset...

...over construction can be quite lovely.

Looking down from the 10th floor...

...the pool kinda looks like a giant footprint. I'm tempted to go put toes on it...

A visitor!

Katharine graces the place.

Less prehensile than usual

I wouldn't having to type with my thumbs so much if it wasn't for this. You'll have to excuse both my pissiness AND my pithiness. Thorry...

Snowy Arlington

Blowy and snowy.

From my bed...

Not sure the phone cam can accurately depict how hard it's snowing. It's snowing pretty damn hard. Kneeling on my bed here. Will take better pics when I actually begin moving. Love y'all!
