Leaving the San Diego Marriott

Camelot Playland, Southern California

Words fail to convey the kitchy over-the-top nature of the left coast's mini-golf palaces. 5 courses, insane difficulty levels, windmills, barricades, despair. They have it all.

Another stuffed-to-the-gills flight. To San Diego yet. Blurgh...

Just standin' around, smellin' our feet...

Kat and I at the Nats game

Boston schooled us most hideously. And brought more fans than we did. Tsk-tsk-tsk.... But Kate is sweet! She and I had dinner with Papaw again tonight, so that all worked out pretty good.

Falls Church

Papaw with Matt and Jo.

Sunday, June 21, 2009

Silver Spring, MD

Within these walls lives the worst improv show I've ever seen.

Had like a 1-day flu or something. Shakes, sweats, sensitive skin. Seems a little better today. Love you guys.

King St., Alexandria

Ok, it's turning into Seattle around here.

Jo and Matt, blurry

A Fun Afternoon is in Store...

Nothing serious is wrong, I'm told.  However, good Dr. Tescher is nothing if not thorough.  And if not for this, I never would have dug up this funny picture of a doctor peering into a man's penis. I hope I'm laughing in four hours.  :)

Lack of communication on my putt under the actual windmill.

Sir Goofy Golf, Chattanooga

A splendid array of molded fibre-stone madness.

A Marriott in Chattanooga

Jon passing the time in a hotel where the rooms aren't ready and whose primary employment requirement seems to be a severe learning disability.

According to this...

...I am here. Here being the Hartzfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Now to drive for a long time.

Dunn Loring, VA

About 8 miles up the bike path from my place is the Beltway. I actually made it.

Saturday, June 13, 2009

By way of comparison....

These are MY tennis courts. You understand my excitement at the nice, well-tended ones.

Bluemont Park, Arlington

Ok, never heard of this place a couple of miles from my joint: beautifully maintained barely used tennis courts. Sweet.

Home of an evening...

One guess as to who came over and made fish sticks tonight...

Thursday, June 11, 2009

Alexandria, VA

I got taken to lunch out of the blue today. I am such a sucker, I know, I know...

Out front

Not just coffee...bananas foster birthday cappuchino. Oh yeah....

Mail's In!

Got it! And the contents. Thank you! Wish you were here, too. Love y'all!

Sunday, June 7, 2009

W & OD Trail, Arlington

Ok, this is the greatest bike path ever.

Saturday, June 6, 2009

Also, to curtail future maternal outbursts... Love that flea market bike place...

The weekly Arlington Courthouse Flea Market. They have a cheap bike repair/sales thing here every Saturday. Found out I not only didn't get ripped off, but apparently I did the ripping! Woo-hoo! Bout time...

Somewhere in Maryland

Is it me, or does this just seem to be --in general-- a situation fraught with hideous possibility?

Somewhere in Pennsylvania

In the extraordinarily unlikely event you miss driving driving down the Pennsylvania Turnpike in the ya go!

Backstage, JCC of Allentown, PA

I'm serious. Don't touch it. Ever.

Odell/Springfield Rd, Laurel

Still one of the greenest, prettiest drives around. Albeit shortest...

Driving to Allentown today, made a slight detour. What a happy childhood you gave me. Thank you so much. I love you guys.

And, as you can see, I now have inexpensive transportation.

Rockville, MD

What with the bike path next door that leads out past where you used to live, I'm thinking of buying this bike I found locally through ebay. Easier on the knees than running. :)  I'll find out tomorrow if I get it for my cheapy-cheap bid or have to keep looking. Test drove it today, though, and very nice.
