So, on my walk, saw this one beautiful tree...

Is this a birch tree? It was alone and unique on the trail. The picture doesn't do it justice: the white were far whiter, and the darks seemed much darker. A tree of true contrasts. Stunning.  I almost got hit by a passing horse while taking this picture.  Horses have very little sympathy for photography in general, I've noticed.

Look who came to see the show!

Opening went well...

But I am pooped and Dad, thanks for the extra supply of these. I finally cracked into them tonight. Sore. I'm not meant to sing and/or clamber in low-oxygen situations.

Went to see 'Moonrise Kingdom' last night. One of the sweetest, funniest movies I've seen in a while. You will love the two lead kids. So adult in such a kid way.

We did a little singing yesterday

Did one scene in front of a group that were using the theatre to honor themselves for something.  Then went out to a place called Light on the Mountains and did a medley of tunes from the show plus other stuff.  This is Rachel singing. I sang this song.  A couple of keys lower, but it went fine with RL and Rachel providing back-up. Now I have 50-year-old groupies, I'm told.

Out my bedroom window. Kinda makes me think I'm in your all's basement. Comforting. I like being down here cause it's cooler. It doesn't really get that hot...nobody's home has air-conditioning here. But still too hot for me. Glad I'm not in DC right now.  108 heat index or something like that? Ugh...

While searching our kitchen for a simple pair of tongs (which we never found) we came across this device. Can't figure out what the hell it is.

Somehow....

...all the Birds successfully conspired to deliver unto me a cheery balloon bouquet...and ON my birthday. And I never gave anyone my address. Now they're back at da joint with all my cards. It made me feel all glowy and nice.

How I spent my birthday

Pretty much in this position for the last 5 hours. One nice thing about being Equity: mandated breaks. Which I needed. We're at altitude and I'm singing like a fish out of water. Although my new elderly status may have something to do with it. Damn this encroaching decrepitude!

Made it to Idaho!

Except there are no currywursts to be found. Damn you, Erica, for creating this unnatural lust for curried catsup and sausages!

What I will have did this summer...

I will officially be a professional fool after long-standing amateur status.  Specifically, in this.  It's like working again. In the picture above, I will in all likelihood be portraying the older, fatter man. Damn this cursèd typecasting!
